Ken Broom is a seasoned and versatile DJ with more than 20 years of experience creating memorable dance floors for social dancers, competitors, and festival audiences. Since 2004, Ken has specialized in Latin dance music (salsa, cha-cha, bachata, and merengue), Argentine Tango (traditional and nuevo/alternative tandas of tango, vals, and milonga), and Ballroom dance music (International and American styles). His carefully curated sets are informed by deep musical knowledge and a dancer-centric sensibility.

Ken has been a featured guest DJ at numerous prestigious events, including Spoleto Tango on the Beach (2006–present), Columbia’s Mad Hot Tango Marathon (2010–2012), Columbia’s Argentine Tango Regional (2014–2015), Charlotte’s Candlelight Alternative Milonga (2016), Queen City Tango Marathon (2018–present), Dancing with the Stars (9 seasons), Las Carolinas Tango Marathons, SouthEast Tango Festival, Milonga La Pantera, and numerous private and community events. In 2026, Ken also contributed his musical expertise to Argentine Tango – The SHOW presented at the College of Charleston, an arts event celebrating tango performance and culture. 

As an event organizer, Ken and his wife Zenaida have produced long-running and beloved dance experiences such as the Spoleto Tango Festival (Charleston, SC, 2006–present), Tango by the Lake (Columbia, SC), WinterHeat Salsa Weekend (Columbia, SC), and The Columbia Tango Marathon (Columbia, SC). In 2022 they founded Dragon Productions LLC, a full-service production company offering event planning, professional audio, video, and theatrical lighting services.

In addition to DJing, Ken is an accomplished Audio Engineer. He has mixed live performances for celebrated ensembles and artists including the Alejandro Ziegler Orchestra, Pittsburgh Tango Trio, Osvaldo Barrios, Athens Tango Project, De La Noche, Orquesta MaCuba, Palmetto Latin 9, and the Meridian Tango Group, bringing dynamic live sound to diverse musical performances. 

Whether curating elegant tandas for a milonga, energizing a salsa congress, mixing live orchestras, or producing large-scale events, Ken brings professionalism, passion, and musical depth to every dance community he serves.
